A smiling white, feminine person rests their head on their hand. They are sitting in a chair, wearing a black dress shirt with a white cardigan.

Registered Psychotherapist

How I Do Therapy

I believe that you are the expert in your life. You know your circumstances, your resources, and your situation better than I ever could; so I’m not here to tell you what to do, but actually to support and work with you to establish your preferred future.

I believe every person has value and intrinsic worth. I work from a strengths-based stance, and seek to understand each person’s strengths, talents, and unique skills.

My Values As a Therapist

I believe in the absolute necessity of human connection and relationships, and that community is a necessary part of well-being.

I believe diversity is a strength, and that collaboration and universal respect are essential. I am constantly educating myself on anti-racism, decolonization practices, and how to be a better community member. I see feedback as a gift and an opportunity for me to learn and grow as a therapist and as a person.

We Might Be a Good Fit If…

…you are looking for a more chill and casual therapy space. I’m often wearing one of my five favourite t-shirts and a hoodie, and I love to genuinely connect with clients, especially over shared interests (though I will make sure we never get too distracted).

…you are looking for a place where you can show up genuinely, and/or messily. Just like I’ll show up in a comfy t-shirt, clients are welcome to show up in their pyjamas, or with their hair messy. You are welcome to show up with your pet (I’d love to meet them), a colouring book or fidget toy, or whatever else makes you feel safer and more at ease!

…you want a therapist who can mix and balance validation, appropriate humour, and gentle call-outs.

More About Me as a Person

I am also someone who is open and vocal about my lived experiences, which inform my psychotherapy practice. I am proudly queer, I am openly neurodivergent, and I move through life in a disabled body.

When I am not practicing psychotherapy, I also work as a celebrant and wedding officiant, and occasionally as a drag king. In my downtime, I enjoy cross-stitching and quilting, dancing bachata, and watching The Lord of the Rings and Dimension 20 (or really anything on Dropout TV).
